I sometimes imagine how much more of a football fanatic I would be if I was a boy. In any case, I happen to be a girl and unashamedly, a football/soccer addict. This week, as I adjust my sleeping, work, and personal schedule to catch the 2013 Champions League games, it reminded me to share my amazing experience of this year’s African Cup of Nations, which was hosted in South Africa.
As I happen to live in South Africa, I was beside myself with excitement given that I would have the opportunity of attending the games. So this February, I had the great pleasure of attending the opening, closing, and a couple of big matches of the tournament.
However, the highlight of the whole experience has to be the fact that I got to meet, chat and hug my all time favorite soccer player, Didier Drogba. What a once in a life time opportunity this was. So without further ado, please enjoy a flashback of my 2013 African Cup of Nations experience in photos.
