Lazy Summer Saturdays in S.A.

It’s the dog days of summer in SA. As the temperature soars, it feels like there is nothing better to do than bum around, especially on Saturdays. This past weekend, as I sat in my apartment fanning away and sucking on blocks of ice to cool down, I conjured up a better idea of how to while away my saturday afternoon. So trotting next door to my neighbor, I found a wiling ally in taking a stroll around our neighborhood so we could catch some breeze.

We thought about going to the pool but then figured everyone else might be headed there as well. However, all that deep thought about where to hang out made us hungry 🙂 so we decided on paying a visit to our local eatery joint….Red Rabbit. A delightful cafe it is….and as usual it did not disappoint. After a scrumptious lunch we waddled home on full stomachs, back to bed….back to the heat….and back to thinking what next to do for the rest of the humid saturday evening.

And there goes a typical lazy summer afternoon in Joburg 🙂

Our neighborhood eatery – Red Rabbit in Fourways , Johannesburg.

With my next door neighbor – Leandi

Desert – Apple tart and ice cream

Desert No 2. – I’ve forgotten the name but it tasted really good 🙂

For lunch: Sauted muscles – a salad – fries – and a jug of pink Shiraz wine

Stuffed…..but ready to do it all over again next Saturday 🙂
