Maintaining one`s hair in its natural Afro state is an art form all to itself: For going on two years now, I decided against the temptation of relaxers and hair straightners and opted to keep my hair au naturel. Though this is sometimes not the easiest venture, it has been an amazing journey in self acceptance and learning to love the crown of kinky curly hair which I have been bestowed with.
Living in Africa this past year has provided me with the opportunity of doing alot of funky things to my hair, especailly in the braids domain. Since it is so accessible here, as well as affordable, braiding my hair has become one of my favorite past times. Within the past six (6) months I have experimented with all sorts of creative styles almost on a monthly basis.
So every now and then I try to keep record of my hair do`s. Below is a brief snipet of my hair journey over the past couple of months.
