It is a Monday afternoon in November in the city of Sao Paulo. Under normal circumstances I should be suffering from the Monday blues, but I’m not. With sunny skies and the stifling heat of the 90 degree weather fanning my face I am strolling around the old city center on my way to the district of San Franciso. Mondays actually are my favorite days, I get to leave work by noon…..and spend the rest of the day planning my schedule for the week with my supervisor.
It is in this haze of self-euphoria I walk from the train station at Republica to the neighborhood of San Fran where I bump into an afternoon orchestra. Looking at folks sitting aimlessly in camp chairs in the middle of a “work day/work district” at 1pm in the afternoon, I think to myself, how awesome is this. It reminded me of the Krio proverb which states “body nor wan yagba/life does not want stress”. So I record the scenery.
