Steve Jobs has forever impacted the way we live, even right here in Africa. Gone are the days when the best thing you could give to kids was the freedom to play “outside”. From my observation this past year, African kids like their western counterparts will choose an IPad anyday, rather than go outside to play. I don’t know if this is necessarily a good thing. However, the age of electronic entertainment for kids is here to stay, and you can count Africa in as one of the places where the iPad is revolutionizing the way kids entertain themselves.
Below is a photo of my nieces Aminata and Kordou, on their iPad on a cloudy day in Senegal after coming home from school.
